Why Nikhil Singhal Created Halfety
When Nikhil Singhal set out to create Halfety for World of Perfumers, he was working with one of the most luxurious briefs in niche perfumery: capture the DNA of the 2015 composition that Christian Provenzano built around saffron, cardamom, Bulgarian rose, oud and leather — a fragrance that costs well over ₹25,000 a bottle and carries the richness of the ancient East-West trade routes. And make it available from ₹149.
Nikhil Singhal is the founder and master perfumer of World of Perfumers — India's finest destination for inspired luxury fragrances. Trained in Dubai and drawing on fragrance oils sourced from Dubai, France, and Switzerland, Nikhil works every day with the materials at the heart of Halfeti — saffron, rose and oud. And they are deeply familiar to India too: kesar, gulab and agarwood have been part of Indian rituals and attars for centuries. With Halfety, Nikhil faced the defining technical challenge of this composition: balancing richness with wearability. Oud and leather can easily overwhelm — turning medicinal, smoky or animalic. Rose can turn heavy or old-fashioned. And saffron must glow, not dominate. The genius of Halfeti is in its balance — the green, aromatic cypress and cardamom keep the opening fresh, the jasmine and nutmeg give the rose depth without heaviness, and the cedar keeps the oud and leather smooth and refined. What Does the Original Halfeti Actually Smell Like?
Halfeti is a rich, spicy oud-rose with a leathery depth — exotic, dark and luxurious. The first spray is aromatic and golden: saffron and cardamom, with green cypress and a touch of citrus freshness.
